Application Process

1) Fill out an application. Please include as much information as you can.
2) Be sure to fill out the "Characters You'd Be Interested In Playing Section" and list them in order of preference. (ex. Arnold -> Gerald -> Brainy)
3) You may apply for up to 3 characters at one time.
4) You have until Monday @ Noon EST/EDT (i forget which one it is right now) to submit all applications. If you need an extension, please PM me or let a mod know. The date can be changed.
5) When submitting an application SEND IT TO ME! We're going to try to do this anonymously so PM me with the full application and then in a week or so I will take all the applications I have and create polls for them. The only information that I will reveal for people to vote on will be Roleplay Experience and Sample Roleplay!
6) Once the voting is all said and done, we can post up the winning Apps in a new thread.

Would anyone be wholly opposed to having the voting process take place over at LJ? It's easier to make multi-part polls in LJ. I'd be willing to host it in my own journal, you'll be able vote anonymously and they'll be plenty of notification of where you can find the poll and how to fill it out.

I'm not... especially opposed to it... but I don't really get onto LJ anymore. I never used it much anyway. I'd need to make a whole new account and for some reason that seems like an enormous amount of work at this particular (and very lazy) moment.

If that's where you put it, I guess I'll have to go there. No worries.

Well if I do it from LJ I'll do it somewhere where:

A) Only people from this forum will be able to vote
B) You don't have to have an account to vote

So you wouldn't have to worry about signing up again. Just follow a link from here to there and while you're there click some check boxes.

2) You can definitely use a fake name or even just leave that slot blank. If there's something you'd like for us to call you though, you can put that there.

I actually had a quick suggestion...I've been a member of a few different boards were regular roleplay, anyone could play the characters, but there was a special "Ask the Character" board section of the forum where a person who'd passed an audition 'played' the character and interacted with the members under a profile using the character's name as their profile name. Mainly they just answer questions, but some fun was always had with them popping up in other parts of the forum, such as shipping sections.

I just know that some people might be let's say...a good Arnold, but someone else's application is better. This could still let them be Arnold in a roleplay, just not the official one.

Or maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're saying here. It's past midnight and my son refuses to go back to bed, so I'm a little nutty.

Hey everyone, I just wanted to let you know that I don't think I'll be able to roleplay after all (it doesn't have anything to do with the application idea, I swear, I just posted here because this seemed to have the most recent posts...I think the application is a great idea)

I'm really sorry, and I feel really bad for bailing after I said I would do it before; but I found out some personal things this past week that could affect how much free time I have for a while. And I think that after maintaining my own YT account and doing what I can to help Tendra over at HA6S, I'll completely forget to check in here or I won't have enough time to keep up with everything. Again, I'm really sorry.

Hey all! It's Monday @ 12:55 PM and I am most definitely missing a few applications!

I've gotten a note from someone saying they won't be able to turn their App in until Wednesdayish and so I am willing to extend the deadline for a few more days to help out anyone who is feeling sort of rushed by this process.

As of now, I'm going to say get your applications in by Thursday @ noon and we'll be good to go. I probably won't have a chance to arrange the polls until Saturday anyway, so there's a bit of leeway here.

Also, at this point would you guys like to know how many people have applied for certain positions or would you rather it was a total surprise?

@Perhapsormaybe: These applications are specifically for the roleplay game we're about to start up, but I think the "ask a character" idea is pretty cool. I don't have much interest in starting/organizing it, but it sounds fun. XD

Okay, if other people are interested in the idea, I'd be more than willing to organize it. I still have the surveys somewhere on my computer that are typically used to screen potential canidates.

When you say "In the character POV", do you mean like:

I was walking down the street and beat up Brainy.

Or:

She was walking down the street and beat up Brainy.

???

It's up to you, but we'll be doing the role-play in 3rd person, past tense so you might wanna stick with that. For the application process you can take it how you want though.

All right guys. Last call for applications! I think almost everyone is accounted for, but I know at least one person who needed an extension still hasn't turned it in. So, please please please do this ASAP or if you have to withdraw then be sure to send me an PM saying so.

Also if anyone would like to apply for Gerald, please do that! For some reason no one turned in an app for Geraldo. XD

As of right now these people win these roles by default and can take them if they want, or - if they have applied for a character who is going to a vote - they can wait until after the voting is finalized and make their choice then.

Finally, I did some snooping and found that anonymous polling is impossible on LJ. Instead I will set up polls here and then delete the threads once everything is over to avoid clutter.

The poll shall be set up tonight and run through next Wednesday. Honestly, I think most of us interested will probably be able to vote within a day or so, thus I don't feel like it is imperative to keep the poll open for a long, long time.

Yeah, there was a really great turnout for those four characters! Everyone's entries were AWESOME.

Yeah, I already read over everyones' entries and voted and everyone really did do a great job.

Out of curiosity, what happens if someone gets more than one role? Do they get to pick which character they want and second place gets the character they didn't choose?
