Hey There Hi There Ho There!

I've been here for a long time, but I figure I'd introduce myself again since there seem to be a lot of new people on the boards.

Name's Alyssa! I'm known most everywhere as Squirreltamer. I'm an HA! fanartist and I am slowly working on an HA! epic fanfiction called Trying. I used to be pretty involved with the 6th Season Project, but have been slacking off for awhile now.

I love Helga/Arnold to bits and pieces, but a lot of times I'd much rather draw Rhonda/Harold stuff. There's an appalling lack of good Rhonda/Harold fic and art in the fandom. Harold is also probably my favorite character (after Helga).

Your works are all very fun, and "Trying" is so interesting. Doi. >w<

All pairs deserve a good chance in the spotlight! Heck, wouldn't it just be great if they all could flourish equally? That way everyone would be happy! ...Or would that be too chaotic? Couldn't say, really.

But yeah, HaroldxRhonda is a nice pair. I really liked how they seemed to come together at the end of "Egg Story", that was pretty cool. There does need to be more work of this pair, I agree.

I really need to buckle down and work on the next chapter of Trying this weekend. I'm like the slowest writer EVER. But, even if it does end up taking me years to finish, I am GOING to see Trying through to the end.

I have actually gone and collected ALL THE RHONDA/HAROLD FANART IN ALL THE WORLD and put it up on my LJ along with commentary. I try to update it periodically.

I'd also like to gather up a collection of Rhonda/Harold fanfiction, but I just have to take the time to really go digging for it.

That's a good attitude to have! It's not easy being a writer, but hey, it's all about enjoying it and doing your best. Good luck with it!



...You're kidding, right? That's ALL there is? Come ON! It's one of the main supporting character pairs! *Facepalms* Not cool. I would expect that from an utter obscure pairing, but these two? No way.

There should definitely be some good fanfiction out on those two. Though you may be right, it could take some digging around. Sometimes you just have to know where to look, I guess.

Oh well, there's always hope that in the future there will be more that will come out over the years! Hey, HA! itself has made it this far since the series was...well, cut off a few years ago. Who's to say HaroldxRhonda won't meet the same fate? And hey, since there are lovers like you working to produce some good stuff, whee!!!

And there will be some in the GB fanfic I've got going, and I will put more in the future when a good idea comes.

Also, when you look at the Rhonda/Harold art about 85% of it is drawn by me and almost all the other pieces were drawn for me/at my request. No one really draws them on their own, without being prompted.

I mean, to be fair, there isn't a whole lot of Curly/Rhonda or Harold/Patty stuff. BUT STILL. I WANT MOOOOORE.

I have read some H/R fic, but only stuff on LJ. I'm wary of braving the dark corners of FFN for H/R fic.

Oh dear. What a calamity! ...Well, I guess in a way it may prompt other fans of the pair to say "Hey! That person likes HaroldxRhonda? Far out! I'm gonna do it too!" xD Or something.

That's true...there's a few that I've seen, and some fun one-shots, and when either pair is included in a story. MOOOOOORE!!!! I sure wouldn't mind finding nice stuff of them too!

Most writers have that problem. I've found that when I try to write a story from beginning to end, I get stuck. I run into a wall where I can't figure out what happens next, so even though I've got ideas rolling around in my head I can't get to the parts where I want to use them. There's a solution to this: Skip ahead. Write a scene you want to write, even though it has nothing to do with the current events in the story. Write a paragraph or two about juicy scenes that capture your imagination and attention. Then, later, when you have a bunch of them-- connect them all together and see if you can't make it all work.

Just some advice that also helped me. Not everyone does things the same way.

Haha, well I actually have pretty much everything in Trying planned out at this point. There's room for fun extra stuff, but I've already got most of the plotty details nailed down. So that's not such a problem.

My main problem is that I just don't enjoy writing the same way that I enjoy drawing. If I'm bored I'm a lot more likely to start doodling then I am to start writing fic.

It takes me a few hours of lazing about before I do anything productive of any kind. Class assignments, writing, going to the gym... everything really. I rarely get more than one or two key things accomplished in a day. You're probably more responsible than me. At least I hope you are.

My writing is on the spot and whimsical. I have no idea where a story is going once I start writing it. Usually, nowhere. That's why I never submit any fan-fiction even though I've made many attempts. I've got about a dozen stories that are 4-5 pages and yet they will never go any further. They're dead to me.
I'm currently writing an Ed, Edd and Eddy fan-fic. I'm kind of excited because I've thought up an definitive ending for it. I might actually finish something. A historic moment to be sure.

I suck at drawing. It's a discouraging practice. I never got any better, so I eventually gave up trying to learn. Maybe I didn't want it enough.
