Re: Harold vs. Curly
I honestly feel bad for Curly, he's crazy, yeah, but who isn't these days?
I absolutely support Harold/Rhonda, though. Just because they have this... there's this spark with them, for me. They're this totally unheard of possibility with them, big bully kid whose not-so popular but is really a sweetheart and the popular girl.
I don't know, they make me all wibbly in the knees and they are so fantastic and ahahahahgdsaflsdghf I don't know. I love them.
I want to be Curly's friend, though. I just don't think he and Rhonda make a good couple. I do believe there's somebody out there for him, who'll appreciate his craziness.

Actually that's another reason I really like Eugene/Curly - I don't think anyone else in the HA! universe has enough patience and kindness to deal with all of Curly's crazy.

Re: Harold vs. Curly
Someone has to see the good in him. Curly genuinely cares about Rhonda and I can't believe that's a bad thing.Helga wrote:Don't try to defend him, Arnoldo. Dude's a freak of nature. Crazy as a loon.
On the other hand I think his attempts to date Rhonda are totally hilarious.
What if you really loved someone, Helga? How you feel if you were laughed at for it?

I agree with Arnold, Helga. Unrequited love is not a fun thing to go through.

What do you know Arnoldo? As if anyone would ever dare laugh at me. Besides, I'm not insane like Curly is, so whatever.

Re: Harold vs. Curly
Second that one, One Fine Wire. Like I said earlier, to me, Curly is Helga without the filter - as in, her crazy obsessive side without being balanced out by that side of her that is scared of being rejected or mocked by her peers.
I like the idea of Eugene (who I've thought was gay for a while now) and Curly because Eugene is so kind and accepting and that's something Curly needs. Rhonda's overly critical, and Harold's more likely to defend himself from what she says.
Also, guys, quick request, can you please just edit your posts if you think of something else to say? It gets really hard when you're gone for the day and someone's responded to themselves three times or more and my email's getting backed up >.<

Re: Harold vs. Curly
Eh, it's fine, I just wanted it noted. ^_^
I love Curly's obsessive side, but I can get where people might think it goes too far (I'm personally objected to "Twilight" for similar reasons...). Like I said, I don't think Rhonda will ever return romantic feelings, but eventually I believe they'll become good friends.
Really, Curly, Helga, and Brainy all have that whole crazy/semi-stalker thing in common. Wonder if Brainy or Curly happens to have any gum statues...

Re: Harold vs. Curly
....I can has link? I wanna see that picture!
But there is that huge difference that says that Helga and Brainy are a lot more mature than Curly. Curly's willing to blackmail...Helga realized she wanted Arnold to love her as herself ("Helga's Masquerade") and that if he didn't want to be with her/spend time with her of his own free will, she wouldn't make him ("Beaned"). Brainy, going by what Craig Bartlett said, was very willing to stand aside to let Helga be with Arnold and never attempt to get in the way.
I do think it's sweet that Rhonda is aware that she's attracted to Harold and sometimes acts on it, despite her being one of the 'cool, trendy' kids and him being kind of a lazy semi-bully.

Whoa, hey! What is this conversation going on in here!?
Curly's a stalker and Harold's an oaf! I can't believe there's a competition going on here!

Oh come on, Rhonda, I think we all know how you really feel.
You dragging Harold into the swan boat on the Tunnel of Love was proof enough.
And so was Courtney.

I definitely think Harold is ten times perfecter for Rhonda. He's like... comfort food.

Re: Harold vs. Curly
Interesting pairing. I remember seeing this clip on YouTube from a "Hey Arnold!" episode. It showed Rhonda and Sid together and it seemed to imply that Sid liked Rhonda. I forgot what the clip was called and can't find it on YouTube, but it was from an actual episode. If I do find it, I'll post it.
I've never thought much more about the pairing other than that, and I've never seen Sid as being exclusively gay, but I can see him liking members of both sexes.

Yeah, like how Curly's too crazy for Rhonda... oddly, I still like the pairing though.
Harold/Rhonda is starting to grow on me, though.
